Residence visa and emirates ID can now be renewed at home

Residence visa and emirates ID can now be renewed at home through the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (‘GDRFA’) Dubai app. One needs to fill up the online application form for renewal on the GDRFA app without visiting the typing centres, which shall help save a lot of time and money. However, it is imperative to submit a clear application with a clear scanned copy of passport, residence visa and emirates ID to ensure the application is accepted.

Applications received online through the GDRFA Dubai app will be renewed within one to three days rather than the usual two-week period. Medical fitness test reports on the app are also seamlessly linked to the health ministry centres. Applicants can also check the status online and keep track of their application.  There is also a chatroom available where applicants can clarify on points with a customer service executive and this chatroom is also user-friendly for the deaf and the blind.

Furthermore, the app also caters to the companies by sponsors applying visas for their staff outside the country; this process shall be completed within one week. People can also apply for visit visas, extend the three-month visas without leaving the country by paying a renewal fee of UAE Dirhams 500/-.

The GDRFA Dubai app is available for Android and Apple users.
