Dubai Police Recover Dhs 21 Million in Unpaid Laborer Wages


More than Dhs21 million of salaries owed to laborers whose employers had failed to pay them was recovered by 25 March 2015.

Human Rights Department at Dubai Police received 1,407 labor complaints to their hotline last year. This included issues with poor accommodation and unpaid salaries. He said the 800 5005 number is used to ensure dodgy employers are reported. The recovered money was handed over to the labors. Police also said that they made 1,444 visits to labor camps in Dubai to ensure conditions were suitable.
